Compostamailer™ Compostable Mailing Bag - White - 40mu - 450x600+40mm Lip, Perm SAS

Compostamailer™ mailing bags are manufactured using approved and certified compostable materials which conform to Industrial Composting Standard EN13432. Subject to the conditions of industrial composting, the bags will disintegrate into much smaller pieces by 12 weeks and fully biodegrade by 6 months. Compostamailer™ can be home composted but due to the thickness of the material, this will take considerably longer. Compostamailer™ cannot be put in your standard recycling waste bin. Please dispose of the bag in your normal food waste bin, compost bin or organic recycling bin only.

Please store Compostamailer™ in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.  Best performance when used within 12 months of removal from original packaging.  Humidity, direct heat, sunlight or moisture will reduce the bags' optimum performance and shelf life.

Compostamailer™ mailing bags may carry an odour, this is created by the additive which breaks down the material in composting conditions.  Generally this is worse when a sealed carton is first opened and will dissipate over time.

Compostamailer™ mailing bags conform to compostable standard EN13432, by meeting the following criteria under testing environment:

• After 12 weeks, at least 90% of material must have disintegrated into pieces smaller than 2mm x 2mm
• After six months, the material must biodegrade into carbon dioxide (CO2), water and biomass, with CO2 output at 90% of control sample
• The material must not exceed strict limits for fluorine, volatile matter and 10 heavy metals (including lead, mercury and zinc)
• The material must not adversely affect the quality of the compost to which it is added
